Stunning small French writing desk, Napoleon III style (1852-1870), original; entirely in rosewood with pleasantly inlaid parts and the presence of chiselled and gilded bronze decorations and frames.
Retrofinished, cylinder with flap and cantonnier with three drawers and large central drawer.
Characteristic structure of the period, rounded, with pleasantly curved legs.
The internal mechanism (invented by Jean-Francois Oeben during the previous century) composed of levers and cross-references favors, with the sliding of the central drawer, the opening of the cylinder, thus proposing, raising the shutter, a further three drawers and a large writing surface centrally covered in leather (still original of the period of belonging ).
Please note the rare presence, on an exterior side of a drawer, of a stamp (possibly due to the cabinet maker who created it).
It is in an excellent state of conservation considering the age, there are only minimal signs of the time.
The item includes both our certificate of authenticity and a previous certificate.
